Biography

Spring 2017 sees Samantha debut with Mid-Wales Opera as Queen of the Night, and continue as Goddess Ceres, in the critically acclaimed and ground-breaking RSC Production of The Tempest as it transfers to the London Barbican from June.

 

In 2016 Samantha performed Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) & Priestess (Iphigenie) for English Touring Opera & Soprano Soloist for Raymond Gubbay's Strauss Gala Tour.

 

During the 2014-15 Season Samantha performed Queen of the Night and Frasquita for Welsh National Opera

 

In 2014 Samantha sang Queen of the Night for ETO and cover of Hecuba (King Priam)

 

In 2013 Samantha performed Queen of the Night for Merry Opera; La Modista for Wexford Festival Opera; Pit Soprano, for the first UK staging of  Wagner Dream, for WNO.

 

Other roles for WNO include Zerlina, covers of Musetta (La Boheme), Echo (Ariadne), Karolka (Jenufa), Alice Ford (Falstaff), High Priestess (Aida) and has also performed the role of Slave (Salome) & 2nd Bird in the world permiere of James Macmillan's 'The Sacrifice"

 

Samantha studied singing at the Royal College of Music and Birmingham Conservatoire.

 

Prizes include: The Symphony Hall Recital Competition, Cecil Drew Oratorio Competition, The Reginald Vincent Lieder Prize and The Great Elm Competition.

 

Other operatic roles include Lucia in the Hungarian premiere of The Rape of Lucretia for Opera Europe; Amarilli (Il Pastor Fido) for Harmonie Universal; 1st Lady (The Magic Flute) for Kentish Opera; Josephine (HMS Pinafore), Elsie (The Yeomen of the Guard), Yum-yum (The Mikado) all for The D’Oyly Carte Opera Company; Alice in Offenbach’s Dick Whittington for UCL Opera; Ida (Princess Ida) for the Buxton Festival; Elsie (Yeomen) for BYO at the Linbury Theatre; Poppea (Coronation of Poppea); Venus (Orpheus in the Underworld), Tigrane (Radamisto), Genevieve (Suor Angelica).
